NotaryPro Academy — Disclaimer Last Updated: June 14, 2026

1. Independent Education Provider

NotaryPro Academy is a privately owned educational provider operating at notaryproacademy.com. We are not the California Secretary of State, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise associated with the California Secretary of State, any California state agency, or any federal government agency.

The California Secretary of State independently administers the notary public commission program, conducts the state examination, processes applications, and approves or denies commissions. NotaryPro Academy has no role in and no influence over those processes.

2. Educational Purpose Only — Not Legal Advice

All course content, written materials, workbooks, templates, videos, practice questions, and other resources made available through NotaryPro Academy are provided for educational purposes only.

Nothing in our courses, website, materials, or communications constitutes legal advice, and nothing creates an attorney-client relationship between you and NotaryPro Academy or any of its instructors, staff, or agents.

Notary law is complex, and individual circumstances vary. If you have questions about a specific legal situation — including questions about whether a particular notarial act is permissible, whether a document may be notarized, or any other matter involving the interpretation or application of California law — consult a licensed California attorney.

Do not rely solely on course content for decisions involving specific legal matters.

3. No Guarantee of Exam Passage or Commission Approval

Completion of a NotaryPro Academy course fulfills the mandatory education requirement for California notary public applicants and renewal candidates under California Government Code § 8201 and § 8201.2. However:

  • We do not guarantee that you will pass the California Notary Public state examination.
  • We do not guarantee that your commission application will be approved by the California Secretary of State.
  • Commission approval is determined solely by the California Secretary of State, based on your examination results, background check, fingerprints, and application materials.

Past student performance is not indicative of future results.

4. Accuracy of Information

NotaryPro Academy makes every effort to ensure that course content is accurate and reflects current California law at the time the course was developed and approved. Our curriculum is based on the California Notary Public Handbook (2024 edition) and applicable provisions of California Government Code, California Civil Code, and the California Code of Regulations.

However, California notary law may change. It is your responsibility as a notary public to stay current with any changes to the law, Secretary of State guidance, or official regulations after the completion of your course. We recommend periodically reviewing the California Secretary of State’s website at sos.ca.gov for updates.

NotaryPro Academy is not liable for any errors, omissions, or outdated information in course materials, or for any action taken or not taken in reliance on course content.

5. Course Approval Disclosure

NotaryPro Academy courses are offered pursuant to 2 California Code of Regulations § 20800 et seq. The California Secretary of State vendor identification number and course approval date for each course are displayed on the respective course enrollment page. Do not enroll in any course that does not display a valid SOS vendor identification number.

6. External Links

Our website and course materials may contain links to external websites, including but not limited to the California Secretary of State’s website, government resources, and notary supply vendors. These links are provided for your convenience and informational purposes only.

NotaryPro Academy does not control external websites and is not responsible for their content, accuracy, privacy practices, or terms of use. Inclusion of a link does not constitute an endorsement of the linked website or its content.

7. Affiliate Disclosure

Some pages on this website may contain affiliate links to products sold through third-party retailers, including Amazon.com. If you purchase a product through an affiliate link, NotaryPro Academy may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.

As an Amazon Associate, NotaryPro Academy earns from qualifying purchases. Affiliate relationships do not influence our course content, educational recommendations, or the information we provide about California notary law.

Affiliate links, where present, will be identified as such. We only link to products that we believe may be useful to notary public students and practitioners (such as notary journals, seal stamp supplies, or study materials). You are not required to purchase any product through our links.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, NotaryPro Academy, its owners, officers, instructors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, any content, information, or materials provided through this website or our courses.
